With new Clear Traction Coating from STAIN-PROOF®, part of the ICP brand family, slippery hard surfaces such as natural stone, porcelain and vinyl adds a beautiful look to floors around bathrooms, stairs, decks and pool areas.
The contractors and remodelers can get a firm grip on floors that still look natural and stunning without any blotchy, hazy spots. Some protective texture coatings that increase the coefficient of friction (C.O.F.) of a surface penetrates the substrate, which can alter its appearance.
Clear Traction Sealer Retains Aesthetics
Clear Traction is a topical sealer that works differently. Specially formulated with hard particles that rise to the top of the surface, this long-lasting, easy-to-apply clear sealer adds traction without sacrificing the beauty of granite, limestone, marble, concrete, porcelain, ceramic, vinyl or wood floors inside or outside.
“Clear Traction adds texture to surfaces but in clear form, so there is minimal appearance change,” said Scott Higginbotham, director of Global Sales, STAIN-PROOF®.
“Some products make patterns hazy or change their appearance, but this coating prevents stains, makes cleaning a cinch, improves grip and eliminates worry about things like muting a floor’s color and shine. Unique sealing technology sets STAIN-PROOF® apart, and Clear Traction is formulated to distance itself from the competition,” added Higginbotham.
Coats & Protects Residential and Commercial Buildings
Clear Traction is suitable for residential and commercial buildings and structures. Clear Traction coats and protects in public areas, hotels, swimming pool surrounds, bathroom and shower floors, decks, patios, stairways, garage floors, hospitality and kitchen floors, and anywhere where surfaces become slippery when wet.
Highly resistant to water, abrasion, household oils and etching from mild acids, the UV-stable formula comes ready to use as a convenient one-coat application. Clear Traction dries to the touch in four hours, allowing for light foot traffic within eight hours and heavy traffic after 48 hours.
Clear Traction also meets ANSI Standard Test Method A326.3 for measuring the dynamic C.O.F. of hard surface flooring materials greater than 5% (slip resistance C.O.F. > 0.5). It cures to a UV-resistant film that adheres to the substrate through chemical bonding.

- Acid and stain resistance: “Pass” on 1- and 2-hour exposures per ASTM C1378 for hot coffee, red wine, lemon Juice, water and olive oil
- 12-month shelf life
- Adhesion-grade 4 crosshatch and X-cut (1-5 scale)
