Glasurit® 68 and 90 Lines approved by Scania

Published on 2006-04-26. Author : SpecialChem

Glasurit® has been granted technical approval by truck manufacturer Scania for its Glasurit 68 Line high-solids paint and Glasurit 90 Line waterborne basecoat. This means that all Scania trucks throughout the world can now be painted or resprayed using these environment-friendly Glasurit paints.

68 Line paints and 90 Line waterborne basecoats release significantly fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than solvent-borne paints and thus fully meet the stringent new VOC legislation. The corresponding primer and high-solids clearcoat products were also approved by Scania.

The approval agreement with Scania covers the supply of Glasurit 68 and 90 Line paints to the Scania plants in Zwolle (Netherlands), Södertälje and Lulea (both in Sweden), Angers (France) and Slupsk (Poland).

Glasurit is now drawing up a coating guide in conjunction with customer Scania to assist in using the new paint systems. The aim is to make this available as instructional material for bodyshops, dealers and spray painters dealing with Scania trucks.

Scania granted its approval not only because the stringent VOC legislation is met but also because of the products’ excellent properties. The 68 and 90 Line products are reliable, quick-drying and very flexible paint systems which also offer excellent gloss properties.
