Cortec Offers EcoLine® 3690 & VpCI® Winterized Coatings for Corrosion Inhibition

Published on 2012-09-24. Author : SpecialChem

Environmental factors such as temperature play a major role in the selection of materials for corrosion resistance. Theoretically, they should always be applied under the best of conditions. But practically, these ideal conditions are seldom available for application, shipping, or storage of material. Successful cold temperature applications can be greatly enhanced with the proper Cortec® product designed for low temperature use; assisted by the technical support from their accredited Laboratory.

EcoLine® 3690, USDA certified open atmosphere corrosion inhibitor, is a biodegradable, biobased, ready-to-use temporary coating. When applied on the surface, this product leaves an oily film, which provides excellent outdoor protection on any metal surface. The film is self-healing and moisture displacing, providing superior protection against aggressive environments.

VpCI®-337 Winterized has a lower freezing point for the convenience of application and storage in cold temperatures. VpCI®-337 is effective on ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as aluminum, plated steels, and copper. VpCI®-337 is consistently successful in providing protection to the basic metals, metalworking, and packaging industries.

VpCI®-377 Winterized, a cold weather version of VpCI®-377 also has a lower freezing point for the convenience of application and storage. It is a corrosion preventative liquid that meets tough antipollution requirements. VpCI®-377's vapor phase action protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals by forming a clear, dry, hydrophobic film to protect uncoated surfaces and difficult to reach areas.
