Axalta 14 Colors Latest ICONICA Powder Coatings Collection Axalta unveiled its latest ICONICA collection of Alesta® SD powder coatings as part of an exclusive global premiere at this year’s Batimat in Paris, France.

Based on Super Durable Polyester Resin System

Performance is a central pillar of the new ICONICA collection, which features Axalta’s Alesta SD range of products as standard for lasting surface protection. This product offering is based on a super durable polyester resin system.

It provides aesthetics with outstanding durability and scratch resistance in the most demanding of environments, in compliance with international standards such as Qualicoat Class 2 and AAMA2604. In a major vote of confidence in the quality of the product, the collection also comes with a warranty up to 25 years.

ICONICA has been developed with a key focus on the environment as part of Axalta’s wider commitment to delivering sustainable solutions. The Alesta® SD range of powder coatings is solvent- and VOC emissions-free, while producing significantly less hazardous waste compared with solvent borne coatings solutions, making it the most environmentally friendly paint solution on the market.

The superior environmental credentials of the solution prolong the life of substrates, allowing materials to be used more sustainably. Such coatings also receive LEED credits for every project on which they are used and support EPD certification.

The ICONICA collection identifies a palette of 40 key finishes which capture the essence of our time. These are supported by research carried out by Axalta’s team of color experts and its in-depth understanding of the global built environment landscape. Such findings provide architects and designers with clear, actionable insights to help inform designs that can withstand the test of time.

Keeping Up with the Sustainable Trend

There are 14 new colors added to the collection, with new additions such as Grained Stone, Russet Scarabea and Lunar Chrome. To help illustrate this metamorphosis, it has grouped the colors according to four key themes which embody the changing face of modern existence, Natural Crafts, Comforting Shelter, New Minimalism and Celestial Space.

Olaf Conreur, global business strategy director at Axalta said, “We are proud to unveil the latest ICONICA collection, which addresses the changing performance, sustainability and design requirements of the global architecture and design community.

This newest trend collection underlines our commitment to supporting architects around the world with expert insights and guidance to facilitate better, more sustainable designs. ICONICA enables customers to turn their project into a piece of art, while making the most of advancements in coating technology to ensure superior performance,” added Conreur.

Sally Put, global color design and communications manager said, “It is difficult to comprehend the rate at which things are changing, which is why we are taking a bird’s eye view of the wider societal and environmental trends shaping design and architecture.

Understanding the driving force behind color trends holds the key to better choices when it comes to design. We understand that color trends evolve in line with changes within our society and our new collection highlights this,” added Put.
