DUBLIN, Ohio -- After a successful North American launch, the new barrier coat for professional boat builders, AME® VPRO, from Ashland Composite Polymers, a business group of Ashland Performance Materials, a division of Ashland Inc. (NYSE:ASH), is now available in Europe. AME VPRO-03 S barrier coat provides an excellent surface profile and superior blister protection using standard gelcoat spray equipment. AME VPRO-03 S barrier coat is formulated from Ashland's world-leading epoxy vinyl ester technology for above or below the waterline use.

AME VPRO-03 S barrier coat provides a layer of protection to composite boat decks and hulls between the gelcoat and the laminate. "AME VPRO not only helps professional boat builders achieve superior surface cosmetics, it also fits with the efficient, cost effective manufacturing model that top boat builders strive to implement," said Mike Wallenhorst, global marine market manager for Ashland Composite Polymers.

AME VPRO-03 S barrier coat can be applied with equipment that is readily available in typical boat shop. AME VPRO-03 S barrier coat maintains the integrity of the laminate flexibility and features low emissions when being applied.
