SEOUL, Republic of Korea -- Rohm and Haas, the world's leading supplier for binders and additives for paint and coatings will host a seminar introducing its environmentally advanced technologies and products at a seminar on Thursday, April 24th, 2008. The seminar will take place at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel, adjacent to the Seoul Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Rohm and Haas scientific and marketing experts will be present to discuss how the company adapts its technology to meet the specific local needs of paint manufacturers around the world. Products to be featured include:

Avanse™ DC-3840: This revolutionary paint binder has earned the highest rating - five clover marks - under the new standard in Korea for low volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This product offers excellent washability, stability and pigment binding capability. Rohm and Haas's Avanse™ technology platform has generated a number of excellent products for architectural and industrial paints. Each offers high-level performance characteristics, along with environmental benefits. Avanse technology has been recognized with a number of awards, including the Prix Pierre Potier Award for Innovation in the Environment from the French Ministry for Industry, and the Premio Imprese Ambiente European Business Award for the Environment from an Italian business and government organization.

In addition, Rohm and Haas will present information about new products specially designed for use in the Asia-Pacific region at their state-of-the-art research center in Shanghai. These are environmentally advanced products that are used to create paints that are more resistant to dirt, stains and, in some cases - have elastomeric properties that bridge cracks in masonry. Among the products to be featured are: DirtShield™ 08, Primal™ SF-018, Primal™ JP-130S, and Elastene™ 3848.

Rohm and Haas's Global Technical Manager, Dr. Andrew J. "We have a long history of developing corrosion resistant products that protect metal" said Swartz. "'Our most recent product, AVANSE™ MV-100, enables paint manufacturers to produce state of the art coatings for tough industrial uses with an excellent environmental profile." Customers will be involved in discussion on how they can benefit from the new technologies and use these products to enhance the environmental properties of paints and coatings specifically designed for the Korean market.
