Rohm and Haas Company Announces Price Increases for Automotive Coatings in North America

Published on 2005-10-28. Author : SpecialChem

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Rohm and Haas Company announced price increases for its coatings sold to the North American automotive industry. Target increases range from 6.0% to 20% for coatings and solvents. The increases will take effect December 1, 2005, or as contracts allow.

In making the announcement, Ralph Wagner, Director of Marketing, Automotive Coatings, cited the continued increase in the cost of raw materials and energy as necessitating the price increases.

"Some of the structural price increases for key raw materials have been offset by aggressive global sourcing and internal efficiency improvements," said Wagner. "However, we can no longer rely on internal measures to combat these increases and maintain the profitability required for reinvestment. Rohm and Haas has taken and will continue to take measures to contain costs, and we look forward to a strong and bright future for our industry."
