Rohm and Haas Announces Price Increases for Automotive Coatings in North America

Published on 2005-03-09. Author : SpecialChem

PHILADELPHIA -- Rohm and Haas Company announced price increases for its coatings sold to the North American automotive industry. Target increases are 3.0% for waterborne coatings, 6.0% for solvent-borne coatings, and 20.0% for solvents. The increases will take effect April 15, 2005 or as contracts allow.

In making the announcement, Ralph Wagner, Director of Marketing, Automotive Coatings, cited the continued increase in the cost of raw materials, steel packaging, and energy, as well as escalating service costs, as necessitating the price adjustments.

"Rohm and Haas has absorbed these increasing costs for over five years," said Wagner. "However, we can no longer rely on internal measures to minimize their effect on our customers and our company in this environment. Rohm and Haas has taken and will continue to take measures to contain costs, and we look forward to a strong and bright future for our industry."
