PPG Pittsburgh Paints Helps Put Canada In the Pink with Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Partnership

Published on 2009-09-30. Author : SpecialChem

TORONTO -- PPG Pittsburgh® Paints announced a partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. For every gallon of the company's new NO MISS Ceiling Paint, which goes on pink but dries to a bright white finish - allowing customers to see where they have painted and where they haven't - PPG Pittsburgh Paints will contribute $1.50 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. To kick-start the giving, PPG Pittsburgh Paints will make their contribution retroactive, with a $1.50-contribution for every gallon of NO MISS Ceiling Paint shipped since the product's launch in May 2009. The promotion runs through August 2010.

"Breast cancer affects people at every level of our communities. Everyone has been touched by the disease, whether it is through a family member, friend, colleague or acquaintance," said Joanne Currie, Canadian Marketing Manager, PPG Pittsburgh Paints. "We're excited to partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation because their programs support breast cancer research, awareness, education and quality-of-life programs that reach into the grassroots of our dealers' communities. Painting a ceiling with NO MISS Ceiling Paint gives our dealers and their customers a way to help the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation create a future without breast cancer and at the same time, support neighbours living with the disease."

NO MISS Ceiling Paint goes on pink, allowing customers to see where they have painted - and where they haven't! - and avoid re-painting and touch-ups. Within 30 minutes, the paint dries to a bright, flat white. NO MISS Ceiling Paint is 100% latex, for easy clean up; spatter resistant, keeping the paint where it's supposed to go (and off of a homeowner's hands and walls); high-hiding for better-looking results and fewer coats; and low-VOC (less than 50 g/L), one of PPG's ecological paint solutions.

"One in nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Although significant progress has been made in the areas of early detection, diagnosis and treatment, there is still much work to be done," said Jane Knox, Associate Director, National Corporate Partners. "We're absolutely thrilled that PPG Pittsburgh Paints has committed its support to the Foundation and the breast cancer cause."

NO MISS Ceiling Paint is available at PPG Pittsburgh Paints dealers across Canada (MSRP: $24.99).
