PPG featured a wide range of its architectural coatings at the recently held AIA Conference on Architecture 2022 (A’22) in Chicago.
The company highlighted its PPG CORAFLON® Platinum powder coating, PPG DURANAR™ liquid coating, PPG DURASTAR™ liquid coating, PPG DURAFORM™ liquid coating and PPG CORAFLON® ADS field-applied coating. Also on display was COPPER ARMOR™ liquid coating by PPG, which is an interior paint with anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. PPG representatives, including Lynsey Hankins, PPG color and design manager, provided in-depth information on the products and services the company offers to architects, designers and others.

One of the company’s newest product offerings, PPG Coraflon Platinum powder coating is a patent-pending fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) fluoropolymer coating. The new product can create finishes never before possible with powder, including mineral tones, textures, and anodized, stone and terracotta appearances. It is compliant with the Fenestration and Glazing Industrial Alliance and American Architectural Manufacturers Association (FGIA/AAMA) 2605 standard.

Copper Armor paint is an EPA-registered anti-viral and anti-bacterial paint containing CORNING® GUARDIANT® technology that is proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, on the painted surface in two hours. The product’s efficacy was measured using tests that simulate real-world contamination as mandated by the EPA for products making claims against harmful pathogens.
Visitors also learnt about PPG’s high-performance coatings for flooring, including general purpose, chemical- and wear-resistant formulations, and PPG PSX™ 700 coating, which is a patented breakthrough for long-term steel protection. Attendees are encouraged to explore the world of color with PPG’s complimentary THE VOICE OF COLOR® tools.
