POTTINGER Second Surface Coating Plant St Georgen Plant The agricultural machinery manufacturer, PÖTTINGER officially opens the second hall in the new rake and baler plant in St. Georgen near Grieskirchen (AT) on April 14, 2023. PÖTTINGER was able to put a modern KTL (cathodic dip painting) and powder coating system into operation here.

Meeting High Demands for Corrosion Protection

In the new surface coating plant, the parts for rakes and round balers now get their colorful coat of paint. The painted parts were previously delivered from the main plant in Grieskirchen. In addition, external orders for high-quality coating are taken on here using the most modern methods.

Industrial customers in particular, who place such high demands on corrosion protection as PÖTTINGER, are enthusiastic. Thanks to the new concept, jobs can be carried out in black KTL dip paint, high wall thickness and large part weight. The maximum hanger weight is 1,200 kg.

An environmentally friendly painting process is used for the high-quality surface coating with cathodic dip painting (KTL) and powder coating. The production and processing takes place without solvents. The painting process brings corresponding hardness and thus a longer service life. Here, PÖTTINGER combines environmentally friendly painting processes with sustainability.

The coating also plays a large part in the usual high quality of our machines. The impact-resistant coating lasts for the life of the product. That was one of the reasons why we also invested in a corresponding system at this location," said Gregor Dietachmayr, spokesman for the management, who is convinced of this expansion step.

In addition to the sustainable aspects in the construction of the new hall, i.e., generous use of wood, green roof, PV system, use of residual heat, etc., attention is also paid to the greatest possible conservation of resources and the environment in the coating process.
