New Pricing for Resins, Gel Coats

Published on 2004-11-15. Author : SpecialChem

Prices will increase by $0.05 per pound price on all CCP unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, and gel coats, effective November 15, 2004.

According to Paul Colonna, Vice President for Composites, the persistent escalation in raw material costs and allocation of some key materials, combined with recent energy cost increases (specifically natural gas), continues to impact CCP and other producers of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester products.

"Shortages and allocations have forced us to import some materials," Mr. Colonna stated, "which of course increases our initial expense, while specific recent increases on styrene, phthalic, and all glycols, have pressed us to make price adjustments."

"We are well aware of the difficulties these increases present to our customers," Mr. Colonna stated, "and are making every attempt to minimize the impact on their businesses. We continue to support our basic goal, and that is to always provide our customers the best in both products and services."
