Lubrizol Names C. Lawrence Miller Corporate Vice President of Human Resources

CLEVELAND -- The Lubrizol Corporation announces C. Lawrence Miller, 52, has been elected corporate vice president of human resources, replacing Mark W. Meister, who at age 55 is retiring effective September 30, 2009. Effective July 1, Miller will assume global responsibility for company-wide human resources functions, directing the corporation's human resources strategy in support of the company's vision.

Miller is an 11-year veteran of Lubrizol, having rejoined the company in 2008 as general manager, corporate human resources. Prior to his return to Lubrizol, Miller served as vice president, global human resources at Tremco Inc., an affiliate of RPM International Inc. In addition, he held human resources leadership roles at Ferro Corporation and Diebold Corporation. From 1988 until 1999, Miller held various human resource positions at Lubrizol, including human resources manager, Lubrizol France.

Miller is a graduate of Borromeo College of Ohio and holds a master's degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Meister joined Lubrizol in 1989 as director of human resources for Agrigenetics, a subsidiary of Lubrizol. In 1993, Meister was elected corporate vice president of human resources for Lubrizol, and in 1994, he accepted the additional role of chief ethics officer for the corporation, which he held until September 2008.
