Kraton Upgrades Its CTO Biorefinery in Panama City

Kraton CTO Biorefinery Panama City Kraton Corporation (Kraton) finishes a $35 million investment. They upgraded their crude tall oil (CTO) biorefinery towers. They did this in their Panama City, Florida factory. Kraton makes specialty polymers and high-value biobased products. They are derived from pine wood pulping by-products. Kraton is a sustainable producer.

The new infrastructure was completed in November. It meets the highest safety and quality standards. It will continue to serve the customers.

Strategic Investment for Biorefinery Operations


Kraton is also dedicated to staying at the forefront of changing customer expectations. This is all in the pine chemicals industry.

"We are excited to announce this strategic investment in our biorefinery operations,” said Edgar Baena. He is the vice president of Global Operations at Kraton Pine Chemicals. "Our upgraded towers will ensure Kraton continues delivering. They will ensure it delivers the high-quality, sustainable, biobased products and solutions our customers rely on.

Upgrading our Panama City facility lets us boost efficiency. We can keep supplying reliable products to our customers for years to come,” said Kevin Campbell. He is the vice president of Pine Chemicals Commercial and Procurement.

"This investment aligns with our commitment to grow the pine chemicals business. We're doing this through innovation and advancing the biobased and circular economy," added Campbell.
