KPC has been selected to execute lead abatement and application of premium coating systems on behalf of BCFC. The BCFC "K" class vessel, M.V. Quinitsa will be under going a Mid Life Upgrade (M.L.U.) to extend the service life of the vessel approximately 20 years. KPC was reportedly selected over other competitive bidders due to the company's industry leading environmental, quality and safety programs in addition to KPC's extensive experience and track record for on time on budget performance.

The M.L.U will take place at the Deas Pacific Marine site in Richmond BC with the vessel remaining afloat. In order to ensure compliance with governing regulatory bodies and BC Ferries in house policies of 100% containment, KPC will be managing the scaffolding and containment of the vessel for the duration of the floating M.L.U.

KPC will be performing the coatings removal as BC Ferries and other trade workers execute their portion of the project which will require KPC to adhere to the strictest of Lead Abatement Procedures including air monitoring, containment integrity maintenance and waste management.

Project Management will be provided by Randy Tilley TQ/NACE 3 and site supervision, Kevin Leigh TQ/NACE 3.
