Jotun Dubai has added another prestigious project to its portfolio in the region, with its contribution towards making Dubai Metro a shining example of a state-of-art metro rail project.

Jotun supplied over 3 million litres of paint to protect and decorate the Middle East's first urban train network, which is also one of the most advanced rail systems in the world.

Approximately 1.7 million litres of protective coatings and 1.4 million litres of decorative paints were used within the first line of the Dubai Metro, which opened in September this year. Jotun Paints will also deliver its products for the remaining phases within the Red Line and the entire Green Line, which are expected to be fully opened to the public by 2010.

"The involvement of Jotun Paints in this landmark project is another feather in our cap, as we have once again been a part of a pioneering project that further elevates Dubai's status as one of the most progressive global economies," said Eirik Kristensen, Regional Marketing Manager, Jotun Paints. "The Metro project demanded involvement from all divisions in Jotun, and the production of 3 million litres of paint is truely an achievement."

Once the 20 km Green Line opens, the Dubai Metro will take over the title of the longest automated metro network in the world, from Vancouver SkyTrain, surpassing it by 3 km. The Dubai metro is projected to carry approximately 1.2 million passengers on an average day.

Jotun Paints has more than 37 years of experience in the Middle East market. Through the unique concept of 'Single Source Solution', which is an integrated approach aiming to offer a comprehensive range of customized coatings sourced from the whole spectrum of the organization's resources and competencies, the company has provided prestigious projects in the region with high quality, cost effective decorative and protective coatings.

Jotun's products have an excellent ability to withstand extreme levels of UV light, various levels of humidity and corrosion, high and low ambient temperatures and other environmental pollutants.

Jotun is the only true provider of the 'Single Source Solution' concept. This involves the role to manage and cooperate the different divisions in Jotun, place products rightly as per project specification, be able to communicate with all the decision makers and professionals involved in the development of the project, and to produce and deliver the right paint to the right place at the right time.
