TEHRAN (INIC) -- Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council participated in the 12th International Paint, Resin, Coatings and Composites Fair held in Tehran in December 2012, with the aim of introducing the domestic achievements based on nanotechnology to the paint industry.

In this exhibition, the commercialized nanotechnology-based products were introduced by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, including traffic nanopaint made by Reef Iran Chemical Complex and Pishgaman Fanavari Asia Company, self-cleaning photo-catalytic nanopaint made by Nili Fam Company, nanocoating paint made by Pooshesh San'at Nanofan Company, and antibacterial paint made by Uranus Company.

Over 45 requests from the visitors were received by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council's stall in this fair. Most of the requests were about the nano additives of the paint, production of paints based on nanotechnology, application of nano master-batches in composite industries, application of nano composite in auto industry, anti-corrosion nanocoatings inside the pipes, and building insulators.

20 foreign countries, including Italy, Ukraine, Taiwan, Korea, Turkey, China, and France as well as Iran participated in the 12th International Paint, Resin, Coatings and Composites Fair, and they presented their achievements in paint, resin, and composite industries.

About INIC

Iran has recognized the significance of nanotechnology like other pioneering countries and started its activities in line with development of the technology. In this regard and as first step, a Study Committee for Nanotechnology in Iran began its activities in 2001 and finally Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) was established in the country in 2003. The INIC is tasked with determining the general policies for the development of nanotechnology in the country and pursuing the case with implementation of the policies.

Iran's success in achieving a proper place among 15 countries which are advanced in nanotechnology and making attempt to promote the position in a bid to develop Iran's economy are the main missions of the INIC. Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council is seeking to pave the ground for activity of the private sector and production of wealth within the society through adopting outlook, providing facilities, creating market and removing the existing problems.
