Grolman Validation SBTi Net Zero Targets
Grolman Group is the first SME in the chemical industry in the world whose ambitious net-zero targets have been validated and published by the Science Based Target Initiative.

Goals to Reduce GHG Emissions

Grolman Group commits to:
  • reduce scope 1 and 2 by 46% by 2030, from a 2019 baseline, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions
  • reduce scope 1+2+3 emissions by 90% by 2050, from a 2019 baseline

Florian Grolman, CEO Grolman Group stated, “We believe that achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement targets, is feasible and will at the same time also support our business. Of course, these targets require robust action across all sectors and an expansion of the range of low-carbon options for the transition.

We are confident to achieve this together with our existing partners, suppliers, and customers, as well as new partners who will join us on this journey,” added Grolman.

Susan Hilmi, senior sustainability officer said, “We need to expand the range of options used, by focusing more on how we operate as an industry. Innovations in our feedstock processing methods need to be combined with typical technical options such as energy efficiency, fuel shifting, carbon-free power generation and electrification.

We know that there is not just one way to achieve Net-Zero, but that each company in the industry must define its own transition with the global goal in mind. We believe 2050 is important because it provides a guide for near-term decisions. It shows that more needs to be done now to take advantage of all the options available and avoid committing to the wrong technologies and processes,” added Hilmi.
