DuPont Titanium Technologies Announces a Price Increase for Titanium Dioxide Grades in North America

Published on 2004-12-08. Author : SpecialChem

WILMINGTON, Del. -- DuPont Titanium Technologies announced a price increase for all DuPont titanium dioxide grades sold in North America.

Effective January 1, 2005, or as permitted by contract, North American (US and Canada) prices for all DuPont titanium dioxide grades will increase by six cents per pound (US$).

This increase is in addition to the 6 cents per pound increase announced in September 2004, and already implemented or to be implemented as contracts permit by the start of 2005.

These price increases are necessary due to rising raw material costs as well as the need to improve reinvestment economics required for capital funding to support industry growth. These increases are also supported by macro-economic strength driving very strong global TiO2 demand and extremely high industry capacity utilization rates, supporting worldwide recovery.

Other increases are being announced currently elsewhere in the world.
