Clariant at Asia Coat + Inks Show 2008, India

Mumbai, India -- The Asia Coat + Ink Show 2008, took place from February 8-10, 2008 at Nehru Center, Worli, Mumbai, India. Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited - one of the leading producers of Pigments, Special Dyes, Waxes & Additives - participated and showcased its new developments and the current trends prevailing in the printing inks and coatings industry. The Clariant Stall won the third prize for the Best Stall Display at the exhibition.

Mr. Ibrahim Zidan, VP-Global Technical Marketing Printing Inks, Clariant Produkte Deutschland GmbH, presented a paper on "Pigment Optimization for Ink Applications" on February 9, 2008 (Session IV: 14.45-15.15 hours) at the International Conference on Printing inks at the Hall of Culture, Nehru Center, Mumbai. The Symposium ran concurrently with the exhibition at the venue. He elaborated, "There is a tremendous potential for us in India, esp. for the packaging, printing and printing ink industries. The exhibition was a success. Clariant remains committed to its position as a strong partner to the industry with a focus on customer demands for high-performing yet cost-effective products. Despite accelerated restructuring efforts, Clariant has not been able to any longer compensate for the significant raw material and energy price increases by cost savings. The cost increases have been partly passed on in order to remain a reliable, predictable and accountable supplier. Clariant will continue to be committed to the environment, product safety, product development and service. I did have the feeling that a lot of our valued Indian customers understood our message and will continue to appreciate our products and the respective excellent service we offer."

Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited's Pigments & Additives Division had on display its High Performance Solutions for Non-Impact Printing along with its Brilliant Solutions for Traditional Printing and Coating Applications. Its Non-Impact Printing range included Colorants for Solvent based Ink Jet Inks like Savinyl Dyes, Permajet, Permajet EBA Liquid, Hostaprint; the Colorants for Water based Ink Jet Inks like Duasyn and Duasynjet Dyes, Hostajet PT and Pigments. These are used for Wide Format and Small Office Home Office (SOHO) segments. Also on display were Innovative Charge Control Agents (CCAs), Pigments (Permanent, Graphtol, Novoperm, PV Fast, Hostaperm), Pigment Preparations (Hostacopy) and Waxes for Electrophotographic Toners.

In the Traditional Printing category, we had on offer Pigments for Packaging Inks, Pigments for Publication Inks and Pigment Preparations. Our expertise lies in supplying color and performance for Gravure, Offset and Screen Printing with a focus on Decorative Laminates, Packaging, Publication and the Security Industry. Our range for this category includes Hostaperm, Novoperm, Permanent, Hansa, Reflex Blue, Savinyl and Flexonyl.

High quality DPP Red Pigments like Hostaperm; specific applications with Hostatint and Hostavin; and easily dispersible pigments for effective paint manufacturing like Novoperm and Hostaperm were on display.

Also showcased were the Kronos grades for the printing inks segment (Flexographic - matt/gloss, Offset, Screen printing, textile printing and Gravure inks) and for Industrial coatings segment (Coil, Electrodeposition, Domestic application, Wood finishes, Wooden furniture, Primers, Automotive finishes, Vehicle refinish, Rail vehicles, Aircraft, Marine, Packaging, Powder coating - exterior/interior finishes).
