Published on 2006-05-04. Author : SpecialChem

LEVERKUSEN -- Effective May 15, 2006, Bayer MaterialScience AG is raising the selling prices for saturated polyester polyols and selected solventborne resins for polyurethane paints and coatings by an average of 4 to 6 percent, depending on the product group.

The ongoing increases in the costs of raw materials and energy are so significant that they cannot be offset by internal measures to increase efficiency. Should the situation in the global markets for raw materials continue to escalate, Bayer MaterialScience reserves the right to make further timely adjustments to its selling prices in response to rising costs. All current contractual obligations will be fulfilled.
