BASF to Increase Prices for Acronal and Acronal Optive All-Acrylic, Acronal styrene-acrylic and Basonal Multi-Monomer Emulsion Polymer Latex Products in the U.S. and Canada

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Effective April 3, 2008, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase its prices by $US 0.04 per wet pound in the United States and Canada on all Acronal® and Acronal Optive® all- acrylic latex products, Acronal® styrene- acrylic latex products and Basonal® multi-monomer latex products used in the adhesives, fiber bonding, architectural coatings, paper and construction markets. This action is necessary due to significant increases in cost that BASF has experienced for raw materials, freight and energy.
