Asian Paints was elected at the Nova Paint Club's Conference in Portugal, hosted by founder member CIN, on the 30th May 2002. Speaking at the conference, Jalaj Dani, vice president - international, Asian Paints, said " We recognize the valuable services Nova provides to its members and look forward to playing a key role in the future development of the club."

Dr. Rainer Votteler, Nova president, said: "It is important for Nova to have a member representing India. In Asian Paints we are joined by the market leader with a very strong technological background in both decorative and industrial coatings".

The conference brought together Nova technical directors and members of the board. It also provided an opportunity for delegates to visit CIN's new wet paint and powder manufacturing facilities and its state of the art distribution center near Porto.
