Perstorp:

• Integrated Chemicals Producer, PCG Acquires Perstorp: Perstorp has announced that it has been acquired by PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), Malaysian integrated chemicals provider and part of PETRONAS Group on 11 October 2022.
• Perstorp Buys GEO’s Di-Methylolpropionic Acid Business: Perstorp has acquired GEO’s Di-Methylolpropionic Acid (DMPA®) business, further emphasizing its commitment as the sustainable specialty solution provider within the resins and coatings segment.

allnex:

• allnex Acquires Coating Resins Business and Manufacturing Site in India: allnex has announced the acquisition of the Mahad Manufacturing site and coating resins business from D.R. Coats Ink & Resins Pvt. Ltd. (DRC), located in Maharashtra, India.

Arkema:

• Arkema Acquires Polimeros Especiales, a High-performance WB Resins Producer: Arkema has finalized the acquisition of Polimeros Especiales, strengthening the Group’s offering in solvent-free solutions and its position in this fast-growing region.

Sun Chemical:

• Sun Chemical Acquires SAPICI, a Manufacturer of PUs for Coatings: Sun Chemical has acquired SAPICI, one of the global leading companies in high-performance polyurethanes for coatings, flexible packaging, industrial adhesives and more.

AkzoNobel:

• AkzoNobel Acquires Wheel Liquid Coatings Business of Lankwitzer Lackfabrik: AkzoNobel has completed the acquisition of the wheel liquid coatings business of Lankwitzer Lackfabrik GmbH, a deal which strengthens the company’s performance.
• AkzoNobel Acquires Colombia-based Paints and Coatings Company: AkzoNobel has completed the acquisition of Colombia-based paints and coatings company Grupo Orbis, strengthening its long-term position in Latin America.

Clariant:

• Clariant Completes Divestment of its Pigments Business: Clariant has completed the sale of its Pigments business to a consortium of Heubach Group (“Heubach”) and SK Capital Partners (“SK Capital”).

Chromaflo Technologies:

• Prince Finalizes Ferro’s Acquisition, Combines with Chromaflo: Prince International Corporation, a portfolio company of American Securities has completed its acquisition of Ferro Corporation, which was previously announced on May 11, 2021. Prince paid $22.00 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.1 billion.

DIC Corporation:

• DIC Corporation Acquires TODNM, a Chinese Coating Resins Manufacturer: DIC Corporation has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary DIC (China) Co., Ltd., wholly acquires Chinese coating resins manufacturer Guangdong TOD New Material Co., Ltd. headquartered in Guangdong Province, China (TODNM).

DKSH:

• DKSH Acquires Terra Firma, a Specialty Chemicals Distributor in North America: DKSH has created a scalable platform with the acquisition of Terra Firma for growing its presence in Performance Materials in North America.

Henkel:

• Henkel Acquires NBD Nanotechnologies, a Surface Technology Developer for Coatings: Henkel has completed the acquisition of the US-based advanced materials start-up NBD Nanotechnologies Inc. (NBD Nano). NBD Nano has expertise in developing surface properties such as repellency for plastics or optical coatings for displays. With this acquisition Henkel aims to strengthen the position of its Adhesive Technologies business unit in functional coatings.

Westlake:

• Westlake Closes Acquisition of Hexion’s Epoxy Business: Westlake Chemical Corporation has completed the acquisition of Hexion’s global epoxy business for approximately $1.2 billion in an all-cash transaction.

IMCD:

• IMCD Acquires Kuni Chemical, a Speciality Distribution Company: IMCD has announced that IMCD Japan had acquired 100% of the shares of the speciality distribution company, Kuni Chemical.

LANXESS:

• LANXESS Acquires IFF’s Microbial Control Business Unit: LANXESS has completed the acquisition of the U.S. group of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) microbial control business unit.

PPG:

• PPG Acquires Arsonsisi’s Powder Coatings Manufacturing Business: PPG has announced that it has completed its acquisition of the powder coatings manufacturing business of Arsonsisi, an industrial coatings company based in Milan, Italy.
• PPG Introduces New Protective Solutions for Automotive Coatings: PPG has announced the launch of PPG VERSOLON™ solutions, a newly formed brand designed to simplify PPG’s offerings to light industrial customers including liquid coatings, powder coatings and allied products, as well as provide exceptional service.

Brenntag:

• Brenntag Acquires Life Science and Coatings Business from Ravenswood: Brenntag has announced the acquisition of the Life Science and Coatings business from Ravenswood, a specialties distributor in Australia and New Zealand with strong expertise in blending.

Covestro:

• Covestro Acquires JSR’s Shares in Japan Fine Coatings: Covestro is now the sole owner of Japan Fine Coatings Co., Ltd. (JFC), previously managed as a joint venture (JV) with JSR Corporation (JSR). JFC is one of the leading suppliers of optical fiber coatings based in Tsukuba, Japan.

SK Capital:

• SK Capital Acquires Florachem, a Manufacturer of Plant-based Ingredients: SK Capital has announced the acquisition of Florachem from an affiliate of Carmelina Capital, LLC.

Azelis:

• Azelis Acquires Chemiplas, a Specialty Chemicals Distributor in Australia & New Zealand: Azelis, an innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Chemiplas Agencies Ltd (“Chemiplas”), a distributor of specialty chemicals, plastic raw materials and ingredients in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
• Azelis Acquires Whitfield Chemical Group to Strengthen its Chemicals Footprint: Azelis has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Whitfield Chemical Group, the parent company of WhitChem. Whitfield Chemical Group is a distributor focused on CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) and R&PA (rubber & plastic additives) in the UK.

Hempel:

• Hempel Acquires Khimji Paints, a Coatings Manufacturer in Oman: Hempel has acquired the coatings division of the Omani conglomerate, Khimji Ramdas, to expand its Oman operations. It is Hempel’s first acquisition in the Decorative segment in the Middle East.
