POLYTONE K 88 by Polyols & Polymers is a neutral, unsaponifiable ketone-aldehyde condensation resin designed for paint systems. It is used in combination with other binders. It is highly effective in imparting gloss, adhesiveness, leveling and also in increasing the solid content leading to a reduction in the VOC. It is suitable for the manufacture of clear and pigmented nitrocellulose wood and metal finishes because of its favorable price and low color number. It forms a good base for the manufacture of bright clear lacquers as well as while enamels. These lacquers are generally characterized by good adhesion. It enhances the pigment loading capacity of nitrocellulose lacquers so that even at high pigmentation an excellent gloss can be still be achieved. POLYTONE K 88 is applicable for the manufacture of finishes which have to be resistant to mineral oil.
