PAT-ADD COAL 77

Non-ionic green coalescing agent. Reduces the MFFT (minimum film formation temperature), enabling proper film formation at highest strength. Possesses excellent scrub resistance and paint shelf stability. Contributes to optimal coalescence of polymeric binder particles during paint film formation. The product is typically strongly adsorbed onto polymer particles, thus being concentrated around the particle. During film formation PAT-ADD COAL 77 softens the polymeric particle, supporting the transfer of the particles into a continuous film. As a result, best conditions creating maximum film strength for best mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance and scrub resistance will be provided. Even under adverse weather conditions such as high temperature, low humidity PAT-ADD COAL 77 stays in the film long enough to support film formation. Unlike classical coalescing agents, PAT-ADD COAL 77 typically has no effect on the odour of the paint and enables the formulation of odourless paints, for instance for indoor applications, hospitals etc. It is designed to be used in high PVC systems up to gloss dispersion paints and varnishes.
