Omnirad 819 DW (Former Irgacure 819DW) by IGM Resins is a versatile photoinitiator for radical polymerization of unsaturated resins upon light exposure.

It is especially suited for the curing of pigmented water-based polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) and acrylic dispersions as well as the daylight curing of PUD-based clear coats.
It can also be used in combination with light stabilizers.
Other possible uses includes thick section curing, emulsion-type and 100% UV systems.
It is suitable for surface, through and LED cure.
It is designed for white, clear and pigmented systems.
Its photosensitivity at longer wavelengths allows to be used in combinations with UV absorbers, e.g., Omnistab 1130.
It is ideally suitable for weather-resistant UV-curable coatings.
The recommended addition level for water-based pigmented polyurethane dispersions is 0.5-1.0% + 1.0-2.0% Omnirad 500, UV-stabilized clear PUD is 0.4-0.6% + 1.0-1.5% Omnirad 500 and daylight-curing clear PUD is 0.5-1.0 % + 0.5-1.0% Omnirad 500.
It is used in wood, metal, plastic, paper as well as printing and screen inks.
Omnirad 819 DW has a shelf life of 12 months.
