The challenge is to provide flame retardant (FR) properties to coatings while maintaining transparent/translucent appearance, good abrasion properties, cold solvent stability, and long-term efficiency in the film.
The ICL group, is focusing in developing brominated polymeric flame retardants like TexFRon® 4002, hence resulting in a safer solution. Polymeric products have low water solubility, are not prone to leaching or migration and due to high molecular weight.
