The EXOCOAT® series of smart coatings have brought a new-technological advancement in smart coatings to prevent corrosion of metals. They consist of an overcoating of epoxy primer with a polyurethane (PU) or fluoropolymer (FP) topcoat.
They have replaced the use of Chromium VI in metal applications by converting the metal surface to a very thin metal oxide layer.
