LIPATON SB 5521

LIPATON SB 5521 by Synthomer is a finely dispersed aqueous dispersion of a carboxylated styrene-butadiene copolymer. It contains an anionic emulsifier system and is free from film forming aids, solvents and plasticizers. Provides very good adhesion, abrasion- & water resistance and corrosion protection. Exhibits low water absorption, limited UV-stability, water vapor permeability and elastic properties. It forms a clear, slightly tacky film and behaves in a visco-elastic fashion over a wide temperature range. Can be used as a sole binder or in combination with anionically stabilized dispersions. Shows good compatibility with water thinnable resins, degreased bright metals (iron, steel, zinc, aluminum), phosphated or lead-coated sheet steel. It is fully compatible with commonly used fillers, pigments and paint auxilaries. Used for protection against stone chips. LIPATON SB 5521 is recommended for primers, fillers, corrosion protection paints, air/forced drying and stone chip/underbody protection coatings, conventional coatings and aqueous paints.
