SR 588

Acrylic ester. It is free radical curable and offers good water resistance as well as good weatherability. SR588 exhibits low shrinkage but high impact strength and high flexibility. It does not support high temperatures, localized heat sources (drum or band heaters), oxidizing conditions, freezing conditions, direct sunlight, ultraviolet radiation, and inert gas blanketing. Possesses an incompatibility with strong oxidizers, strong reducers, free radical initiators, inert gases, and oxygen scavengers. Used in acrylic polymers, hydrophobic coatings, and plastic coatings. Can also be used in waterproof coatings.
