Alcogum® L 1228 by Nouryon is viscosifier and wetting agent. It is an ammonium salt of an acrylate copolymer-based grade. Provides additional water retention characteristics without significantly increasing low and high shear viscosity. Can be added directly to the coating color as supplied without adding additional alkali to adjust pH. Alcogum® L 1228 is used in paper and paperboard coating formulations.
