Natural diatomite. Diafil® 590 acts as a matting agent in paints in the form of diatomaceous earth. It is a low crystalline silica matting agent suitable for a wide range of applications. Being a natural mineral product, every deposit has its own characteristics and these results in different coating properties. Recommended applications include industrial coatings in coil coatings, water and solvent based furniture lacquers. But it can also be used in water and solvent based exterior and interior matts, primers, undercoats, semi-gloss and eggshell.
