GL 1245

GL 1245 by Gold Reef Speciality Chemicals is an associative acrylic thickener. It exhibits stability in the presence of most electrolytes and solvents. It contains surfactant as a stabilizer. It prevents syneresis and does not promote the formation of foam. It offers resistance towards enzyme and microbe attack. It has excellent viscosity efficiency, viscosity stability, newtonian rheology, particle suspension properties and ease of incorporation. It shows better leveling and film build in coatings. In paints, it has exceptional spatter resistance. GL 1245 is also used as an alternative to cellulose thickeners generally added in the let-down stage in paints. Its efficiency will vary slightly depending on the binder used and the pH of the system must be greater than 8.
