RHEOLATE® 450

Hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsion (HASE). Acts as a unique thickener for latex paints and other water based systems. Offers mid and high shear rate viscosity, very good package and application properties. Provides enzyme resistance and can be used to re-thicken biologically spoiled coatings. Reduces syneresis. Gives improved moisture resistance, very good brush drag, improved hiding on roll-out, very good spatter resistance, flow and leveling and color acceptance. Demonstrates both ionic and associative thickening mechanisms with a very good balance of the respective properties. Used for applications like waterborne architectural coatings such as high PVC architectural systems, high gloss and semi-gloss emulsion paints, low odor and low VOC coatings, matte latex paints, premium interior/exterior deco coatings, contractor or trade paint systems and water reducible and emulsion systems, and industrial coatings such as coil and roller applied coatings, vacuum and curtain coatings and industrial maintenance coatings.
