RHEOLATE® 278

RHEOLATE® 278 by Elementis is a polyurethane solution in a mixture of water/diethylene glycol ether. Acts as an associative thickener designed for use in paints containing small-particle-size emulsions and high-volume-solids systems. Provides superior thickening efficiency in the high-shear range (ICI viscosity). Offers high-shear viscosity and good brush drag. Enhances film build. Imparts very good flow and leveling. Reduces spattering during roller application. Exhibits good color acceptance and pH-independent rheology. Offers easy incorporation and enzyme resistance. Allows broad formulating flexibility. Shows good compatibility with other rheological additives. RHEOLATE® 278 is suitable for applications like gloss and satin-gloss emulsion paints, and emulsion paints for interior and exterior applications based on pure acrylic or copolymer binders. The shelf life of the grade is 2 years.
