NANOBYK® -3620

NANOBYK® -3620 by Byk (Altana Group) is surface-treated silica nanoparticle dispersion in water. Improves the abrasion and scratch resistance of aqueous, glossy coatings. This protective property comes into effect after only a brief drying period. It has no negative influences on the gloss and transparency, and is therefore suitable for clear coats. Used in water-borne coating systems. Particularly recommended for industrial, architectural, wood and furniture coatings. NANOBYK® -3620 is especially useful for physically drying pure acrylates and acrylate copolymers. 2 K polyurethane coatings can achieve an earlier final scratch resistance without influencing the pot life of the system. The improvement of the scratch resistance of a coating can often be achieved with 0.5% of dosage level and for an increased abrasion resistance, at least 1.0% is recommended.
