DISPERBYK® -116

DISPERBYK® -116 by BYK acts as a wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne and solvent-free systems. It is a high molecular weight, acrylate copolymer with pigment affinic groups. Offers improved color strength and high gloss. Provides electrical charge to pigments. Increases transparency and hiding power. Reduces viscosity and provides improved levelling and higher pigment loading. Deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. DISPERBYK® -116 is used for architectural, industrial, wood and furniture coatings, automotive refinish and pigment concentrates. Especially designed for the production of pigment concentrates for high solids architectural coatings. The recommended dosage level for inorganic pigments is 7.5-10 %, for organic pigments is 15-40 %, for titanium dioxides is 1.5-2 % and for carbon black is 20-40 %.
