Isobutanol®

Isobutanol® by BASF is colorless, clear, mobile, neutral, isobutyl alcohol-based solvent for coatings and printing inks. Possesses a characteristic odor. Prevents blushing of certain coatings when they dry under humid conditions. Widely used as a diluent in cellulose nitrate lacquers and serves to improve their flow, gloss and resistance to blushing. Isobutanol® reduces viscosity and improves brushability. At low concentrations, prevents cobwebbing in lacquers formulated from sprit-soluble resins. Exerts a beneficial effect in water-based paints.
