Cardolite to Showcase New Bio-based Products for Epoxy Polyurethane Coatings at ACSCardolite will be promoting new bio-based products for coatings at the American Coatings Show (ACS) in Indianapolis, IN on 5-7 April in Booth 1752. At this year’s ACS, Cardolite will be promoting new polyols, epoxy curing agents, diluents, epoxy modifiers, and surfactants for polyurethane and epoxy coatings.

Offer Benefits to Floor & Anti-corrosion Coatings

These materials are bio-based, zero or low in VOC, and offer excellent benefits to floor and anti-corrosion coatings. For example, their epoxy curing agents provide fast cures even at low temperatures, outstanding corrosion protection, and excellent adhesion to poorly prepare substrates.

Polyols are very hydrophobic and deliver excellent hydrolytic stability, cathodic disbondment resistance, and weather ability.

The product lines include low viscosity waterborne, solvent-free and high solids materials that are easy to handle and apply. In addition, Cardolite’s products are based on Cashew Nutshell Liquid technology, an annually renewable source that does not interfere with the food chain.

The technical team will be at the booth to help answer any inquiries related to their product lines and to provide formulation advice and to learn more about their renewable offering and how it can benefit applications.

Sustainable Solvent Free Polyols for Low VOC

Cardolite will be presenting a poster titled “Sustainable Solvent Free Polyols for Low VOC High-performance Polyurethane Protective Coatings” at the American Coatings Conference. This poster will show the latest studies on bio-based polyols in typical low V.O.C (<250g/L) protective coatings and pipeline coatings (solvent-free).

The results demonstrated that those bio-based polyols could provide excellent performance, such as:

  • Fast cure
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Low moisture sensitivity
  • Excellent adhesion to metal substrates

Furthermore, long-term salt spray exposure and cathodic disbondment test results revealed that those bio-based polyols could deliver excellent anti-corrosion performances to protective coatings.
