LANXESS Finalizes Acquisition of INTACE, a Biocides Manufacturer

LANXESS Completes Acquisition of INTACE LANXESS completes the acquisition of the French company INTACE SAS on March 1, 2021. The Paris-based biocide company is a manufacturer of specialty fungicides for the packaging industry. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. LANXESS strengthens its biocides business with the acquisition of INTACE.

INTACE to be Integrated with LANXESS’ Biocide Business


The biocides businesses now acquired account for annual sales in the mid single-digit million euro range. LANXESS will integrate them into the biocides business line within its material protection products business unit. The products are used in particular in paper, paperboard, soap packaging, labels and banknotes.

INTACE has a range of multi-purpose biocides for in can preservation of paints & coatings, adhesives, binder dispersions.

LANXESS is a specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 6.8 billion in 2019. The core business of LANXESS is development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics. LANXESS is listed in various sustainability indices, such as Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World and Europe) and FTSE4Good.
