Corbion Recognition CDP Addressing Corporate Sustainability Corbion has been recognized for its leadership in corporate sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP. After assessing data reported by Corbion through CDP’s 2022 climate change, water and forest questionnaires, CDP commended the company’s continuing actions to cut emissions, mitigate climate and water risks, and strengthen its forest-related policies.

Receiving an A score earned Corbion a spot in the top 8 percent of companies on the 2022 CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard for its work with suppliers to mitigate climate change. Within its sector, Corbion also ranked among the 21 percent of companies at the Leadership level (A-score) on climate change that are implementing current best practices.

Acknowledgement for Tackling Climate Change

Olivier Rigaud, CEO of Corbion said, "We are very pleased CDP’s assessment indicates that Corbion is continuing to provide leadership toward a more sustainable future, and we're proud to be recognized for engaging with our suppliers to tackle climate change.

Preserving what matters to our customers, to our investors and to the world, gives us focus and direction as a company and inspires us to maintain a high level of performance. We are proud of the progress we’re making along our sustainability journey and look forward to what we can accomplish in the coming year,” added Rigaud.

CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. In 2022, more than 680 investors with over US$130 trillion in assets and 280+ major purchasers with US$6.4 trillion in procurement spend requested companies to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through CDP’s platform.

Disclosure through CDP provides a basis for measuring progress toward a climate-safe, deforestation-free, water-secure future and a truly sustainable economy.

Goal to Achieve Net-zero Value Chain Emissions by 2050

Corbion has committed to achieving net-zero value chain emissions by 2050 and has recently received external validation of more ambitious science-based targets aiming to limit global temperature rise to 1.5˚C, which the company established earlier this year toward that goal.

COP 15 couldn’t have been clearer in the call to action on corporate reporting on nature," said Sonya Bhonsle, global head of Value Chains, CDP.

"If a company is not preparing for future regulations on nature in the supply chain, they are open to a wide range of risks and could also be missing out on the opportunities that safeguarding nature will bring," added Bhonsle.
