Cabot launches a new product – MAJESTIC® 710 specialty carbon black. It is suitable for use in water-based systems. It helps improve color performance with low formulation complexity. This includes reducing or eliminating the pre-dispersion milling process. This lowers equipment and maintenance costs as well as enables higher production throughput for customers who are looking for more sustainable color solutions.
Suitable for Colored Coatings for Plastics
MAJESTIC® 710 specialty carbon black enables equivalent or improved jetness relative to black pigments with similar morphology. It is designed for use in masstone and tinting applications for waterborne formulations with diverse applications. It includes concrete coloration and colored
coatings for plastics and composite surfaces. It is also suitable in tile grout,
flexographic and
gravure ink pigment, adhesive color, and black mulch color.

Sustainability Benefits
MAJESTIC® 710 specialty carbon black enables a more sustainable color solution. The product opens the potential for considerable cost and carbon footprint savings by eliminating the pre-dispersion process and reducing the logistics steps in the following ways:
- There is no need to add water or undesirable chemicals that can influence formulation compatibility versus conventional carbon black or iron oxides
- Storage in a less temperature-controlled environment
- Dry pigment packaging is easier and more cost-effective to recycle
- Enable manufacture over a wider timeframe and improve formulation flexibility
