Most Formulators Choose to Develop Formaldehyde-free Coatings & Inks

One of the methods currently used by coating and ink manufacturers to meet stricter government VOC and health regulations for existing products is to replace noncompliant additives with compliant additives and to replace hazardous components with non-hazardous components. Although additives comprise only a small fraction of a coating or ink formulation, they are a major contributor to the overall performance of the product. A variety of "green" additives are currently available for evaluation by coating and ink manufacturers. In July, we asked our members the following question: When trying to remove a substance or traces from your coating / ink, what do you focus on?
