Architectural coatings are defined as coatings applied to interior and exterior stationary surfaces of buildings. Paints, stains, sealants, industrial maintenance coatings, and traffic coatings fall under the category of architectural coatings. Coatings intended for non-stationary structures, such as airplanes, ships, and railcars are not classified as architectural coatings.
