Combination of Weathering Tests Favored to Predict Durability of Pigmented Coatings

SpecialChem / Oct 1, 2012

Accelerated weathering tests provide an opportunity for coating manufacturers to test pigmented coatings using controlled, simulated weathering conditions in a relatively short time. The primary reason for conducting accelerated weathering tests for pigmented coatings is to reduce the time required to find materials that comply with latest government regulatory requirements, meet existing customers' changing requirements, and satisfy potential customer requirements. In September, we asked our members the following question: Which of the following accelerated weathering test method options, do you find, provide the best prediction of actual outdoor durability of pigmented coatings?
