For several years we have been reporting on the events in Asia Pacific, the most dynamic region that the coatings industry has ever seen. The key meeting for the region takes place under the auspices of APIC, the Asian Paint Industry Council. APIC is to Asia Pacific what CEPE is to Europe and NPCA to America. It meets once a year in different Asian countries and is the only event of its kind in the region. The 14th and latest meeting took place in Suzhou China, in October 2009 hosted by the China National Coatings Industry Association. In this the final part of our three part report, we feature the reports of Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Following the final country report of Vietnam we bring news of the next APIC meeting. In addition and, of considerable importance for informed opinion, we present a table of the latest market size estimates covering 2009, 2010 and 2011 for each country in Asia Pacific. The data was compiled by canvassing opinions of the APIC delegates in China and by contacting other countries not present at the meeting.
