Coatings ingredients supplied by BASF

Tinuvin® performance additives for enhanced color retention, UV protection and durability. Designed to protect and extend the lifetime of coatings. Their portfolio contains two types of light stabilizers:
  • Ultraviolet Light Absorbers (UVA) - Based on the nature of the light-absorbing unit, several types of UVA are commercially available.
  • Hindered-Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) - HALS trap free radicals to maintain surface properties such as gloss and prevent cracking and chalking of paints.

When combined, UVA and HALS provide synergistic effects and offer simplicity of formulation. Used in automotive, construction, elastomeric roof, industrial, marine, overprint varnish (OPV), furniture and wood coatings, printing and packaging.
