VINNOL® H 5/50 A (LL 4311) by wacker is a terpolymer of vinyl chloride (VC), vinyl acetate (VAc) and vinyl alcohol (VOH). Contains approx. 2% free hydroxyl groups. It can be crosslinked with isocyanates, epoxy or melamine resins. It is fully compatible with all other VINNOL® surface coating resins, pigments and fillers. It dissolves rapidly in acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone and cyclohexanone. Exhibits excellent toughness, permanent flexibility, abrasion resistance, low swelling in water and low gas permeability. Offers excellent resistance to oil, grease, diluted aqueous acids, alkaline and saline solutions. Shows resistance to alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons such as white spirit. Suitable for use in anti-corrosive & can coatings, synthetic leather coatings, gravure printing, marine & protective coatings, metal and packaging coatings. VINNOL® H 5/50 A (LL 4311) is recommended for surface coating compounds, primers, printing inks, intermediate coatings, two-pack coating systems and baking finishes. Complies with FDA 21 CFR §175.105 and §175.300. It has a shelf life of at 12 months.
