VINNAPAS® EF818 is an APEO-free, formaldehyde-free, aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer with residual vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) at less than 0.05%. Exhibits scrub resistance, early water resistance and excellent thickener response with a number of different thickener types, including hydrophobically modified cellulosic (HMHEC), hydrophobic ethoxylated urethanes (HEUR) and hydrophobic alkali-swellable emulsions (HASE). It does not need a coalescing agent or plasticizer to achieve a low minimum film forming temperature (MFFT) and a low glass transition temperature (Tg) which provides the polymer with a very low to no cosolvent demand for proper film formation. Can be used as a replacement of conventional styrene acrylics. Market applications include low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and low odor architectural coatings.
